Now, with this more sophisticated form of surgery allows a customized correction to each patient’s specific “optical landscape.” The IntraLase Method™ for making the LASIK flap, used in conjunction with VISX CustomVue™ corneal correction, is the greatest combination of LASIK technologies available anywhere in the world. Dr. Cheema and his highly experienced team of eye specialists perform this form of blade-free custom LASIK exclusively, making them true experts in the procedure.

The IntraLase Method™

Instead of relying on a blade to cut the corneal flap during LASIK, the IntraLase Method™, also called Femtosecond LASIK, employs a high-precision laser to create the flap. By applying concentrated light energy to an exact depth within the cornea, Dr. Cheema creates a layer of gas bubbles that makes a very smooth and uniform flap. Then carefully folds back the flap to reshape the cornea with a second laser.

The IntraLase Method™ avoids the irregularities that sometimes occur when cutting the corneal flap with a blade. A smoother, more regular flap means quicker, stronger healing and clearer vision.
