LASIK

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the minimum age a person can undergo LASIK eye surgery is 18. Additionally, the eye doctors at Cheema MD Eye Care recommend patients have a consistent prescription for either their eyeglasses or contact lens for at least 12 months before considering surgery to avoid the risk of their vision changing afterward. The up-front cost of LASIK may scare some patients into spending more money over time on contact lenses and eyeglasses. Refractive Lens Exchange

Often referred to as lens replacement surgery or clear lens extraction, refractive lens exchanges are a great alternative for patients who may not be ideal candidates for LASIK eye surgery. A lens exchange replaces your naturally existing lens in your eye with an artificial intraocular lens or IOL. Our eye doctors will work with you to help determine which IOL is best for your needs. Refractive lens exchanges are an effective alternative to LASIK and often results in patients being free from eyeglasses or contact lenses. Five Stars

Dr. Cheema is a relaxed guy who knows what he’s doing. He was very responsive to me at all times and in fact called me personally when I had a question. The work feels so good that by the second day it didn’t feel like I had surgery at all. I had to remember to take care of my eyes! A great choice and I’m grateful he was in my area.
— Kenny W.
